Privacy Policy
Last updated 8 October 2026
This policy explains what [legal entity name, ABN] (“we”), which runs Hop On Help, collects, why, and what you can do about it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
What we collect
- Account and business details: names, email addresses, business name and details, and anything you give us when you sign up or contact us.
- Computers you add: computer name, operating system, the Hop On Help app's ID and version, and the network address it connects from.
- Activity records: sign-ins, who connected to which computer and when, setup links, and file transfer names. We do not see or record what is on the screen during a session; sessions are encrypted end to end.
- Security information: IP addresses, browser and app details, and device and business identifiers.
How we use it
- To run Hop On Help: sign you in, connect computers, show your activity history and send you service emails (like sign-in alerts and password resets).
- To prevent fraud and abuse: we record device and business identifiers to stop free trials being reused and to detect and block accounts used for scams or unauthorised access.
- Marketing, only if you opt in: we may email you tips and offers, and upload hashed (scrambled) contact details to advertising platforms such as Meta and Google so we can show our ads to similar businesses or leave you out of them. You can opt out at any time with the link in our emails or by contacting us.
Who we share it with
Service providers who help us run Hop On Help (email delivery, hosting, payments), advertising platforms as above if you opt in, and police or other authorities when the law requires it or to protect people from harm. We don't sell your personal information.
Where it's kept
Your account, computer list and activity history are hosted in Australia. Some providers we use (for example for email delivery or advertising) may process data overseas, including in the United States. [List to be confirmed.]
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open, then for up to [period] for legal, security and fraud-prevention reasons.
Data breaches
If a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Your choices
You can ask to see or correct your personal information, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@hoponhelp.com. If you're not happy with how we handle a complaint, you can contact the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
